Done from two photos taken in the mid seventies. Cruising along on a crisp and clear fall day with Nikon F2 on the seat next to me, I stopped and took two pictures, one atop the other, and merged them for this view. A one inch grid on the canvas and corresponding print was the basis for getting things similar in scale.
Marin milking her very own goat, Tevis VJ, circa 1977. I did my best to stay loose on this effort and not try to get everything ‘right’ as I normally cannot help doing.
Done from an old snapshot taken in mid ’70s on oil primed (Daniel Smith) luan plywood.
This was done from a slide taken many years ago. The barn still stands on the East Warren Rd in Waitsfield and is where Gordy Eurich housed his Holstein heifers. The view is west towards the Presidential chain of mountains.
The house sat on an out of the way spot on Fuller Hill in East Warren. The view is east towards the Roxbury mountains. Other sheds and barn, along with the porch roof, had crumbled by the time I took the photo (around 1968) that I did this from.
Ladies enjoying an Indian summer afternoon in a pasture on the Airport Road in East Warren. They were part of the Dave DeFreest family herd. The DeFreest family farms that land today.
The view is from the bridge on Rt 110 where a branch of the White River passes underneath. A covered bridge is seen just beyond the dam.
The view is east and the dam is on the Winooski River. The bridge beyond used to link Rt100B to Rt2.
