Isola Bella, a small island in Lago Maggiore near Stresa, Italy, was purchased by Carlo of the house of Borromeo in 1632 and he began construction of a castle and gardens for his wife Bella. It was completed generations later by his ancestors. This piece was done with the aid of Photoshop. I printed a very faint image and worked on top of it.

The building is the headquarters for the Banca Monte Dei Paschi in Siena, Italy. The statue is of Fra Sallustio Bandini. The piazza is not far from the Piazza del Campo, famous for its annual horse race around the square, where sectors of the city compete for bragging rights.
Lake Tai is the third largest body of water in China. We were on a day trip across the lake when we came across this crew on a tributary. A brick kiln and cultivated mulberries for silkworms are on the shore.
